What this product is
Homeschool Portfolio is a recordkeeping tool for home education programs. It helps parents capture, organize, and export records of their children's educational activities for compliance with state home education statutes.
We are a recordkeeper, not an evaluator, accreditation body, or legal advisor. We don't grade student work, accredit programs, or provide legal advice on home education law.
The trial and subscription
Every new account gets a 30-day free trial covering entries, attendance, reading log, AI capture, and live portfolio preview. Exporting a portfolio — either as a PDF or as a shareable evaluator link — requires a paid subscription at any time, including during the trial.
Subscriptions are annual. Pricing is $39/year for the first child and $19/year for each additional child in the same family. We may adjust pricing for future renewal periods with at least 30 days' email notice; the price you pay during a billing period is the price you started that period with.
You can cancel any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current paid period; we do not pro-rate refunds.
Your responsibilities
You agree to:
- Provide accurate information at signup.
- Use the product for legitimate home education recordkeeping (your own family's program; not others' without permission).
- Not attempt to access other families' data, evade security controls, or abuse the AI features.
- Comply with applicable law in your state, including home education statutes.
- Keep your account credentials secure.
Our responsibilities
We agree to:
- Operate the service in good faith with reasonable security and reliability.
- Hold your data per our privacy policy.
- Give you the ability to export and delete your data.
- Notify you of material changes to terms or pricing.
No guarantees about compliance
The product helps you keep records that align with FS 1002.41 and similar statutes in other states. We do not guarantee that any specific portfolio will satisfy any specific evaluator, district, or court. The parent is responsible for understanding the law in their state and ensuring their recordkeeping meets it. If a specific compliance question is important, consult an attorney.
Beta status and limitations of liability
The product is currently in beta. We work hard to keep it reliable, but it may have bugs and may occasionally be unavailable.
To the extent permitted by law, Homeschool Portfolio is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the product is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental damages, including but not limited to lost data, lost time, or consequences of compliance disputes with school districts.
Termination
You can cancel and stop using the product at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, abuse the service, or fail to pay. We will give reasonable notice and an opportunity to export data unless circumstances (security, legal obligation) require immediate action.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
