Why $129 isn’t expensive

What you’re actually paying for.

Less than a single evaluator visit.

A Florida-certified evaluator typically charges $75–150 for one annual visit. $129 buys you the full year of capture, organization, and AI processing — the whole reason that visit goes well.

The AI work alone is the bulk of the cost.

Every worksheet you snap runs through a vision model, then an embedding lookup against thousands of Florida standards. Behind every entry is real per-page compute cost we’re paying. 1,500 pages of that is most of what you see on this invoice.

Hours of your time, back.

Most parents we’ve talked to spend a full weekend reconstructing a portfolio before evaluation — sorting through camera rolls, mapping standards by hand, formatting a binder. At even modest hourly value, this pays for itself the first year.

Compliance you don't have to think about.

FS 1002.41 requires reading lists, work samples, and a log of activities. We track all three. You stay legal without keeping the statute open in another tab.

Need more pages?

Top up with a credit bucket.

1,500 pages a year covers most families. If you have a heavy month, a 3rd grader prepping for state assessments, or just want extra runway, buy additional pages in bulk. Larger buckets, lower per-page cost.

BundlePagesPricePer page

Standard1,500$40$0.027
Value3,000$72$0.024
Family Pack6,000$129$0.021

Credit-bucket pages are pooled with your subscription pages and drawn down first-in, first-out. Buckets expire 12 months after purchase — we’ll email you at 80% usage so you have time to top up if you need to.

Compared to the alternatives

We did the math against what most families do today.

DIY binder + phone
Free, technically
  • ·Hours of scrambling each evaluation week
  • ·Photos scattered across camera roll
  • ·No standards mapping
  • ·No reading log unless you build one
  • ·No evaluator-ready output

Free in dollars, expensive in weekends.

General portfolio tools (Seesaw, ClassDojo)
$0–$60 / year
  • ·Built for classroom teachers, not parents
  • ·No Florida-specific compliance framing
  • ·No standards database
  • ·No evaluator workflow

Strong for classroom photos. Misses the homeschool brief.

Homeschool Portfolio
$129 / child / year
  • ·30-second photo or PDF capture
  • ·AI reads each page and files it for you
  • ·Florida B.E.S.T. and NGSSS built in
  • ·Reading log and attendance included
  • ·Evaluator-ready PDF and share link

Closer to a real software product than a binder.

Common questions

Things parents ask before signing up.

What counts as a "page"?

A page is one image or one PDF page that runs through our AI. A photo of a worksheet is 1 page. A 5-page PDF is 5 pages. Manual text entries — read-alouds, field trip notes, anything without an attachment — are unmetered and don't count.

What happens if I run out of pages?

You can still create entries — they just won't auto-fill from AI. You'll fill in subject and summary yourself, and the entry still saves to your portfolio with the file attached. Top up with a credit bucket anytime and you can re-analyze older entries to fill in the AI fields.

Do unused pages roll over?

Your base 1,500 pages per child reset each year on your subscription anniversary. Credit-bucket pages persist independently and expire 12 months after purchase. We email you at 80% on both.

How are pages shared across kids?

Family-level pool. If you have three children on the plan, that's 4,500 base pages and any credit buckets are shared across all of them. Use them however you need.

What happens after the 14-day free trial?

The trial gives you 14 days to capture entries, track attendance, log reading, and preview your portfolio. Exporting the finished portfolio — PDF or shareable evaluator link — requires a paid subscription. We put the paywall at the moment of highest value (your finished portfolio) rather than at an arbitrary date.

Do I have to enter a credit card to start?

No. The trial is genuinely free for 14 days without payment information. You only enter card details when you decide to subscribe.

What if I add a child mid-year?

Your subscription's annual cost goes up by $129 prorated to the remainder of your year, and that child's 1,500-page allotment is also prorated. No double-charging for partial-year kids.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. Cancel from your billing page; access continues through the end of your paid year. We don't pro-rate refunds for canceled subscriptions, but we also don't auto-renew without telling you.

What about families in other states?

Florida is our v1 beachhead because the founder is a Florida homeschool parent and the state has a clear, statute-defined evaluation requirement. Other evaluation-required states (PA, NY, WA, VT, OH) are next. If you're in one of those, sign up — we'll email you when your state is supported.

Is my children's data private?

Yes. Photos are stored privately with signed URLs that only your family can access. We are not in the data-selling business. We do not advertise to children or use child data to train AI models. Your portfolio export is what your evaluator sees; nobody else.

How does the AI work? Is it accurate?

The AI reads each photo or PDF and drafts a subject, summary, mastery level, and suggested standards. You're always in control — every suggestion is editable with one tap, and AI is never authoritative. We target 90%+ subject accuracy and 80%+ summary acceptance; you'll see where AI helps and where you correct it.

What if my evaluator prefers paper?

The PDF export is a polished print-ready document. Print it. Many evaluators we've talked to actually prefer reviewing the share link in their browser, but the choice is yours.

$129 a year. About 35¢ a day.

For less than the cost of a coffee a month, your child’s portfolio writes itself, your reading log stays current, and your evaluation week stops being a fire drill. Try it free for 14 days.
